Nothing says commitment quite like the words, &quot;Marry me.&quot; In a second marriage especially, I think it gave not only me a sense of security and completion, but also my kids. We&#039;re in this for the long haul. I don&#039;t speak for everyone I know, but for me it was very, very necessary.</description>

		<description>NO IT ISN&#039;T. Necessary, I mean. And I wish I had forgone it sometimes. It&#039;s giving me something to think about, this idea that maybe I&#039;m struggling in my marriage (to a  man with kids) because the institution of marriage isn&#039;t relevant/alive as it once was?

I agree we&#039;re not going to give up on romance and love. But marriage? We might be able to live and live well without it!</description>
