I love Glee and my husband and I had to laugh about this particular plot of the parents dating each other and the kids hating it. Will tune in tonight to see what else might happen. Yes it’s “just” a show but I think you can learn something about our society’s attitudes about all kinds of things including stepfamilies by watching it.

I AM in fact obsessed with Glee and I was so interested in that twist about the parents of those two kids getting together. I wonder where that will go, if anywhere. I often think that my lot might frankly be easier if my husband were a widower rather than divorced! But I know kids with a deceased parent can make life very difficult for a stepparent in truth.

It’s funny how long I bought into the “blended” idea. I mean, I think in the back of my mind I still do and it still does feel like a failure that we’re not like a nuclear family. But I think I’m making progress every day with this. I hope my husband is, too! Shaken, stirred, you name it but not blended!
