I’ve been waiting to hear Wednesday’s take on this. So when things are unclear, we resort to stereotypes, and arrange what we think are the facts according to that “script”–makes sense to me. This story breaks my heart. If the stepmom is innocent, imagine the hell she is going through–losing her stepson she raised like her own son, and being subjected to false accusations. In my book she is innocent until proved guilty and I have always known that therapists are biased against stepmothers. The media too. Let’s hope judges are not. Whatever happened to Kyron, god bless him and bring him home.

I’ve admittedly been keeping my distance from Kyron’s story, but the longer he stays missing the harder it is to keep that distance. Being so close (within an hour) to where he was taken from, updates on the search are everywhere–including updates on the accusations against the stepmother, which, in my mind, are unfounded. I have yet to hear of evidence that points more strongly to the stepmother than it does to the biomother, or to anyone else in his life. Because of the stepmom factor, the heartbreak in this story is extra strong. I’m sad for this boy and praying that he’s still alive–but I’m also sad for the stepmother, whose heart may very well have been ripped out by this tragedy.

Thanks for all your great comments on the PT website about this really disturbing and sad story. I know we’re all hoping for the best for Kyron and all those who care about him.
    xx wednesday

Is anyone else sick of the attitude that if you’re concerned about the rush to judgment of the stepmother, you must be a heartless person who does not care about the child? The approach to this terrible story is so black and white. We may never know what happened. But praying for this little boy’s safe return does not preclude worrying that there is a rush to judgment. Wishing all good things for Kyron and his family.
